Now, when I say I lost 65 lbs. in just 12 weeks, (84 days) I mean just
that, it’s for real, documented, and I can prove it. I lost the
weight participating in EAS’s Body Transformation Challenge, which is a
worldwide fitness contest. EAS has very strict documentation
criteria to participate in the weight loss contest. You have to prove and
document the exact date you start the program, and the exact date you
finish it. I purposely started my weight loss program 12 weeks before the last
day you could turn in your contest photos so there would be no question as
to how long the weight loss took me.
When you take your before pictures (shown above) you have to display a
newspaper to prove the date you began the weight loss challenge. I took my after
pictures two days before the deadline of the contest, got them developed
at a one hour photo store, and had to priority overnight my contest kit to
EAS’s corporate headquarters in Golden, CO, to get it in on time.
Believe it or not, making the decision to get in shape is 50% of the
battle. It took me nine years to finally make the decision. I
wasn’t always obese. As a matter of fact, I had the body of an
Adonis up until I was 26 years old. I was voted “sexiest” in my
senior class. Believe me, with my big nose and ugly mug, it wasn’t
because I had a face like Brad Pitt. I had a hard body.
Natural bodybuilding, nutrition, and exercise were my passion for
years. I studied the experts, but acquired most of my knowledge in
the trenches.
After I got married I started working 70+ hours a week, didn’t make the
time to exercise and ate the wrong foods. Over a nine year period of time, I gained about 100 lbs. My
poor wife married a Greek God who slowly but surely transformed into
Buddha!
I was sick and tired of the way I looked and felt, and the negative
effects that being obese was having on my life. Simple everyday
things like tying my shoes or climbing a flight of stairs were suddenly a challenge. I needed to change my life and get in shape, and I needed to do it now.
Do You Want To Get In Shape, Or Do You Need To Get In
Shape?
There's a big difference. You have to need to get in
shape. It has to be a top priority. You have to get
obsessed! Who is the most important person in your
life? Imagine they are kidnapped, and the ransom note addressed to
you reads, “You have 6 months to lose weight and get in shape, if you don’t, you will
never see little Johnny again!”
If you knew you were locked in a room with only 20 minutes of oxygen
left, you wouldn’t walk over and try the door once and give up. NO
WAY! They’d find me slumped over in front of the door with no finger
nails left!
The point I’m trying to make is, it is amazing the feats you can
accomplish if you need to. Do you want to get in shape, or do
you need to? I assure you, the pay off is well worth the
investment.
Losing the weight and getting in shape had a positive ripple effect
into every aspect of my life. My self esteem and sense of dignity
returned. I found myself concerned about my appearance again.
I got my hair cut and started to shave everyday. I even went to the
mall and bought new clothes including a few tank tops and pants that
didn't have an elastic waist band!
I had forgotten how wonderful it is to be alive. For me, exercise is almost
spiritual. It provides me with the mindset and time to analyze and
examine my life, and the strength to make the changes necessary to be a
better husband and father - and a better person.
While I was exercising, I maximized my time by reading and listening to
self-improvement material. I started to read the back issues of
marketing newsletters I subscribe to that had been collecting dust for
years. My businesses started to soar! My energy and motivation
skyrocketed and my renewed focus allowed me to provide superior service
and a greater value to my clients.
Today, I look and feel the best I ever have. For the first time
in over nine years, I can run and play sports with my children, and I am
able to sleep in the same bed as my beautiful wife. With my weight,
my snoring was so bad that Kelly and I had to sleep
in separate rooms.
True story. During the height of my obesity, we
went on vacation to Aruba. My snoring was so bad, we had to rent an
extra hotel room just for me -- so everyone else could sleep!
Any Job Can Be Accomplished... But Only If You Have The
Right Tools!
It doesn't matter if you are a female who just wants to tone, or a male
who wants to pack on muscle mass - or get lean and ripped, you need a weight loss

my bunions are killing me, the dog ate my gym shorts!”
I have the same answer for every excuse. Bull $#!+
There is nothing more important than your health. Ignore it and it will
go away. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, or how many
material assets you own. Without your health and quality of life,
you have nothing.
Are you married? Do you have children who depend on you? If
you’re not willing to do this for yourself, do it for your family.
Tell the world what you intend to do. This is a very powerful
principle. If you tell everyone you know that you are going to get
in shape, you have to do it! If you do not stick to your word, your
friends and family will constantly remind you. To avoid
embarrassment and humiliation, you are more likely to stick to your diet
and exercise program, and accomplish your goals.
